We spent a night in the Britannia Hotel this weekend to watch the Chinese New Year Celebrations and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location in central Manchester,just across the road from Chinatown made it an ideal base for our stay.
The lobby is given praise in Michael Portillo`s Travelogue Great British Railways, it doesn't disappoint and gives a feeling of the grandeur of days gone by. We booked an executive room which was clean warm and good value.The buffet breakfast was excellent and the food trays were kept topped up and well presented.
The hotel is not modern but will suit guests who like character.
